Abstract

Over the past twenty years intensive research is being focused on deciphering the ability of the mammalian fetus to heal early gestation skin wounds without scar formation. Although this phenomenon remains poorly understood. This review highlights recent experimental studies concerning the cellular, matrix and growth factor components of scarless fetal wound repair.
