Review of shear surface acoustic waves in solids

IEEE Trans Ultrason Ferroelectr Freq Control. 1998;45(4):935-8. doi: 10.1109/58.710563.

Abstract

General considerations about physical reasons for the existence of surface acoustic waves and, in particular, shear surface acoustic waves in solids are presented. The results of calculations for various types of shear surface acoustic waves are described, and corresponding physical explanations are given.
