Calcific aortic stenosis and statin therapy: a new insight

Int J Cardiol. 2009 Jan 9;131(2):275-6; author reply 276-7. doi: 10.1016/j.ijcard.2007.06.125. Epub 2007 Sep 7.

Abstract

Considering the molecular similarities between calcific aortic stenosis and atherosclerosis, we would like to highlight the potential benefit of statin therapy after balloon aortic valvuloplasty to delay restenosis in patients awaiting a percutaneous heart valve implantation.
