Anomalous origin of the septal perforating artery from the right sinus of Valsalva

Int J Cardiol. 2008 Jul 21;127(3):e148-9. doi: 10.1016/j.ijcard.2007.04.146. Epub 2007 Aug 20.

Abstract

The first septal perforating artery can anomalously originate from the aortic root. This finding is rare, benign and usually associated with other congenital coronary anomalies. We describe a patient with an isolated anomaly, a septal perforating artery which originated separately from the right sinus of Valsalva.
