Role of echocardiography in the assessment of mechanical dyssynchrony

Minerva Cardioangiol. 2007 Jun;55(3):335-9.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to summarize the current scientific evidence regarding the prognostic implications of mechanical asynchrony, the benefits of identifying mechanical asynchrony prior to cardiac resynchronization therapy by means of echocardiography to predict response to cardiac resynchronization therapy and the different described parameters for dyssynchrony evaluation and measurement.
