Abstract

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Rectal Cancer European Equivalence Study (MERCURY) was an observational prospective study involving 11 European centres, to evaluate equivalence between magnetic resonance imaging and histopathology in measuring depth of tumour invasion beyond the bowel and involvement of the circumferential resection margin in rectal cancer specimens.
