Abstract

Prosthetic treatment with dental implant is currently reliable. Since dental implant treatment can yield much satisfaction to patients compared to other treatments, such as bridge or removable denture, number of patients, who desire to be treated with dental implant, is increasing. Cortical bone of female mandible is thin compared to that of male mandible and postmenopausal condition decreases bone density of the cancerous bone. Furthermore, estrogen-deficiency delays implant and bone connection. Thus, it is necessary to treat osteoporotic patients with dental implants carefully compared to usual patients.
