Objective: To study the chemical constituents in dried roots of Rumex japonicus Houtt.
Methods: Isolation and purification of chemical constituents from Runmex japonicus Houtt. were conducted by solvent extraction and chromatography. Their structures were identified by spectrum analysis.
Results: Two compounds were isolated from the acrtone extract of the roots and identified as emodin and rutin.
Conclusion: Compound II is obtained from this plant for the first time. The task provided evidence for the exploitation and utilization of this plant resources.
