Abstract

A number of treatment approaches are available for the management of Class II malocclusion. Functional appliances are commonly used for the management of mandibular retrognathia in growing subjects. The twin block appliance is the most popular functional appliance in use within the United Kingdom. The aim of this article is to review the clinical management of the twin block appliance and to discuss some of the hard and soft tissue changes that accompany treatment with this appliance.
