Abstract
Objective:
To study the chemical constituents of the essential substance from Polygonum oriental.
Method:
Compounds were isolated with silica gel and polyamide chromatography and their structures were determined by spectral analysis and chemical evidence.
Result:
Six compounds were obtained and identified as myricitrin, luteolin, gallic acid, catechin, protocatechuic acid, p-hydroxycinnamic acid.
Conclusion:
Six compounds were isolated from P. oriental for the first time.
