Nursing implications of increasing asthma prevalence

Br J Nurs. 1992 Nov;1(13):653-9. doi: 10.12968/bjon.1992.1.13.653.

Abstract

There is evidence of a worldwide increase in the prevalence of, and mortality from, asthma. Suggested causes of these increases include environmental and medical factors. There are implications for nursing practice. The nurse has a role to play in health education and promotion for asthmatics. Research is being carried out but there is a need for further work.
