[Development and evaluation of continuous-flow apparatus with spectrophotometer for fast reaction]

Abstract

Microprocessor pump drive continuous-flow apparatus with spectrophotometer for study of fast reaction have been developed. The apparatus consists mainly of a microprocessor pump drive, an UV-240 spectrophotometer, a mix cell and the constant temperature facilities. The performance of this apparatus was evaluated by using the model system of Fe(III)-SCN- reaction. The rate constant values of this reaction system are in agreement with some other experimental results. According to the results of the experimental determination, we can see that this apparatus is easy to be operated and shows high precise in measurement. And the apparatus is suitable for kinetic studies of fast reactions whose half-life is in millisecond order.
