Abstract

The title complexes, [Pd(2)(C(8)H(10)N)(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(2)], (I), [Pd(2)(C(8)H(10)N)(2)Cl(2)], (II), and [Pd(C(8)H(10)N)Cl(C(5)H(5)N)], (III), respectively, have been prepared as intermediates and the final product of a cyclopalladation reaction sequence, and their structures studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes (I) and (II) represent the first structurally characterized dinuclear cyclopalladation products of primary amines. For (I) and (III), pseudosymmetry relates two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit.
