Sugar esters from Globularia orientalis

Z Naturforsch C J Biosci. 2002 Jul-Aug;57(7-8):591-6. doi: 10.1515/znc-2002-7-807.

Abstract

From the methanolic extract of the underground parts of Globularia orientalis, a new antioxidant sugar ester was isolated. The structure of the new compound, globularitol (1), was identified as 6-O-feruloyl-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->6)-glucitol by spectroscopic methods (1D and 2D NMR, ESI- and FAB-MS) and confirmed by chemical means.
