This paper deals with: 1. the legal principles concerning compulsory medication of the mentally disordered prisoner; 2. the legal possibilities and limitations for compulsory medication within penitentiaries in the Netherlands; 3. a critical evaluation of these legal rules with a view to the above-mentioned principles.
