The karyotype of the four-chromosome grass Zingeria biebersteiniana has been investigated. Heterochromatin blocks enriched in AT- and GC-nucleotide bases were revealed using two different fluorochrome banding methods. The phenomenon of G/R-like banding of chromosomes is demonstrated. Idiogrames of the karyotype are presented.
