Elixir: a prevention program for women

Abstract

Since November 1984, the Elixir project has devoted its efforts exclusively to the problem of alcohol and drug (minor tranquillizer) consumption by women. From January 1985 to June 1987, this prevention project reached 2,693 women and 911 health intervenors. The following is a description of the implementation of the project, its key characteristics and the effects it seems to have had on the people involved.
