Cleve Clin J Med. 1997 Apr;64(4):187-92. doi: 10.3949/ccjm.64.4.187.

Abstract

Although the discovery of Helicobacter pylori infection in peptic ulcer disease is revolutionizing ulcer diagnosis and treatment, the role of universal empiric therapy for infected patients with dyspepsia or peptic ulcers is not fully elucidated. This article reviews current thinking on the diagnosis of H pylori infection in 1997.
