Trop Geogr Med. 1978 Mar;30(1):115-9.

Abstract

The socio-psychiatric attributes of 103 patients found with the traditional healers in the city of Ibadan, Nigeria are reported. The patients were from all shades of educational and social status. Almost all their in-patients were psychotics while the neurotics were treated as outpatients. The implications of these findings for collaboration between western trained physicians and traditional healers are discussed.
