Virol Sin. 2023 Aug;38(4):643-645. doi: 10.1016/j.virs.2023.06.001. Epub 2023 Jun 7.

Abstract

  1. Cells infected with HSV-2 release migrasomes containing HSV-2 virions.

  2. HSV-2 in the isolated migrasomes can be transmitted to uninfected cells and cause productive infection.

  3. It is the first time that migrasomes have been found to play a role in virus spread.
