Thyroid hormone deficiency has been associated with multiple changes in cardiovascular structure and function in recent studies. A strong relationship has been reported between overt and subclinical hypothyroidism with serum TSH ≥10 mIU/L and adverse cardiovascular outcomes, suggesting the necessity of replacement doses of Levothyroxine. The potential benefits of replacement therapy remain an active area of research in euthyroid patients with heart failure.
