Abstract

After a theoretical introduction, the authors present the results of an exploratory study on the social contacts between older women living alone and their children and other relatives, respectively. It seems to be of special importance for future examinations not to confine oneself to recording the quality and the quantity of such contacts. The necessity of a description of the social contacts in substance in the individual fields of contact is pointed out.
