Radiological assessment of the teeth and periodontium is often left to the dentist. Nevertheless, it is useful to know the anatomy and possible anomalies of the teeth in order to correctly assess pathological processes in both projection radiographic and slice imaging. Dental radiological examinations, such as panoramic slice imaging (PSA) and dental film are used for targeted diagnostics. In the case of incidental findings, a dental presentation should be made for further clarification. This article first provides an overview of the anatomy and anomalies of teeth.
Eine radiologische Beurteilung der Zähne und des Zahnhalteapparats wird oft dem Zahnarzt überlassen. Trotzdem ist es sinnvoll, die Anatomie und die möglichen Anomalien der Zähne zu kennen, um pathologische Prozesse sowohl in der projektionsradiographischen als auch in der Schnittbildgebung richtig zu beurteilen. Zur gezielten Diagnostik finden dabei dentalradiologische Untersuchungen wie die Panoramaschichtaufnahme (PSA) und der Zahnfilm Anwendung. Bei Zufallsbefunden sollte zur weiteren Abklärung eine zahnärztliche Vorstellung erfolgen. Dieser Artikel soll zunächst eine Übersicht über die Anatomie und die Anomalien der Zähne geben.
