Abstract

"HER2 signaling enhances 5'UTR-mediated translation of c-Myc mRNA", J. Cell. Physiol. 200: 82-88, 2004, by Enrico Galmozzi, Patrizia Casalini, Marilena Valeria Iorio, Barbara Casati, Clelia Olgiati, and Sylvie Ménard. The editors of the Journal of Cellular Physiology and the Wiley Periodicals LLC agree to publish an Expression of Concern regarding the above article, published online on 23 January 2004, in Wiley Online Library (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/jcp.20012). In Spring 2020, the journal was contacted regarding concerns about the data presented in Figures 1A-C and 2A because of high level of similarities by a reader. As this article was published more than 10 years ago, the original data is not available for an investigation. Coauthors Marilena V. Iorio and Enrico Galmozzi who were available to comment, disagree with the concerns raised. A detailed image integrity check of all images and figures revealed unusual similarities in Figure 1B (28S). As a result, the journal is issuing this Expression of Concern to readers.
