The power of wonder

Abstract

The broad implications of acknowledging and embracing the emotions of awe and wonder are discussed in this special issue of Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, from their role as an incentive or impediment to scientific progress, to the many ways in which they connect to aesthetic experience, religious attitudes, and ethical concerns.
