Even if psychoanalysis in France no longer prevails with the extraordinary enthusiasm it inspired for decades, it still retains an important place, not only in psychiatry and psychology, but also in the humanities and social sciences, including literature, philosophy, art history, linguistics, and cultural anthropology.
