Ramipril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor and is utilized for multiple indications, including hypertension and prevention of heart failure progression following a myocardial infarction (MI). Ramipril is also used to reduce the risk of MI, stroke, and mortality in patients older than 55 with a high risk of atherosclerotic disease and major adverse cardiac events. This activity provides a comprehensive review of Ramipril's indications, mechanism of action, methods of administration, significant adverse effects, contraindications, and monitoring.
