Excerpt

The upper extremity starts from the shoulder joint proximally and ends in the hand distally. It shares many similarities with the lower extremity but has considerably greater mobility and motion fluidity. Compartmentalization allows for fine motor movements, especially in the hands, which are designed to maneuver objects in their grasp. This article discusses the upper limb compartments and the clinical significance of their spatial organization.
