[Self examination of the breasts]

Abstract

Self-examination of the breasts is common among women from 24 to 70 years of age. This information was obtained from a study conducted on 600 women. They were asked 12 questions concerning self-examination of breasts. 37.3% examined their breasts once a month or more frequently, while 32.3% performed self-examination only irregularly. 191 found self-examination difficult, and 165 said that they forgot to examine themselves regularly. 60% of the women interviewed wanted more instruction in self-examination of breasts.
