Vitrectomy surgery for primary retinal detachment

Abstract

Small-gauge pars plana vitrectomy has emerged as one of the leading approaches to the management of primary retinal detachment in recent years. Developments in technology and instrumentation have improved this procedure and given surgeons a wide variety of tools to tackle this pathology. In this chapter, the techniques utilized in the management of primary retinal detachments are discussed.
