Treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and pregnancy: a review of the literature

Abstract

Context: The inflammatory bowel disease is diagnosed frequently among woman of childbearing capacity. The management must be carefully because there are potential risks for the mother and fetus.

Results and conclusions: We review literature about the management of inflammatory bowel disease in pregnancy. Some studies are needed to ensure the best approach to inflammatory bowel disease in pregnant women.
