Two new sesquiterpene glucosides from the leaves of Nicotiana tabacum

Abstract

Two new sesquiterpene glycosides, 11R,12-dihydroxy-6(7)-spirovetiven-8-one-9-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1) and rishitin M1-13-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (2), have been isolated from the leaves of Nicotiana tabacum. Their structures were established by spectroscopic methods including (1)H, (13)C, and 2D NMR. The absolute configuration of the side chain in compound 1 was determined as R by NOESY and NOE difference spectra.
