[Chickenpox in Poland in 2007]

Abstract

In 2007, 160,174 cases of chickenpox were reported in Poland. The incidence 420.2 per 100,000 was higher compared to 2006 (370.7) and to the median incidence in 2001-2005 (292.0). Children 5-9 year old were the most affected age group--3880.5 per 100,000. Of 160,174 cases, 1112 (0.69%) were hospitalized and 4 deaths attributed to chickenpox were reported.
