Arch Gynecol Obstet. 2009 Dec;280(6):1015-7. doi: 10.1007/s00404-009-1043-y. Epub 2009 Mar 25.

Abstract

Purpose: We present a case of ectopic pregnancy occurring in the stump of a remnant fallopian tube following ipsilateral adnexectomy for a mature cystic teratoma.

Methods: She had a laparoscopic salpingectomy.

Results: We hypothesize the intrauterine transmigration of the fecundated ovum.

Conclusions: The authors emphasize the rarity of the observed case.
