A case of paclitaxel-eluting stent fracture after successful recanalization of chronic total occlusion using a retrograde approach

Int J Cardiol. 2010 Apr 30;140(3):e45-8. doi: 10.1016/j.ijcard.2008.11.077. Epub 2008 Dec 30.

Abstract

Drug-eluting stents (DES) have greatly reduced the possibility of in-stent restenosis by inhibiting neointimal growth. But recently stent fracture has emerged as a complication. We describe a case of paclitaxel-eluting stent fracture after successful percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic total occlusion using retrograde approach.
