This article contains a review of the main developments reported during 2007 in either publications or presentations on patients with ST-segment elevation or non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndromes in the areas of pathophysiology, secondary prevention, prognosis and treatment. In addition, the latest clinical practice guidelines are discussed.
