Thrombectomy for thrombus removal, filters for whatever else

J Cardiovasc Med (Hagerstown). 2008 Apr;9(4):408-9. doi: 10.2459/JCM.0b013e3282eee9bc.

Abstract

Although effective in reducing the total embolic burden, many current thrombectomy devices might not be able to prevent the liberation of plaque components, which have been shown to be a potential contributor to the development of no-reflow during primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
