Brachytherapy in head and neck cancer: selection criteria and results at the University of Florida. Part 1

Oncology (Williston Park). 1991 Jan;5(1):87-93.

Abstract

Brachytherapy, delivering the highest dose of irradiation to the target volume over a short period of time while giving nearby normal tissues a relatively low dose, is especially effective for cancers of the head and neck. The authors review general management principles and concentrate on brachytherapy techniques and treatment results at the University of Florida.
