Abstract

The paper deals with a female patient in whom during induction of anesthesia acute obstruction of the lower parts of the respiratory tract caused by bronchospasm appeared. The bronchospasm was successfully treated and almost immediately relieved by intratracheal administration of adrenaline solution of 0.5 mg in 1 ml. It is concluded that intratracheal adrenaline is a highly efficient therapeutic agent in relieving bronchospasm.
