Science. 1962 Dec 21;138(3547):1336-8. doi: 10.1126/science.138.3547.1336.

Abstract

Fifteen metal artifacts from coastal Guerrero were analyzed. Gold-, silver-, and copper-base alloys were found, and a deliberate manufacture of bronze is indicated. Metallographic studies show a high degree of sophistication in the art of cold-working metal.
