Objective: To determinate the content of periplocin in different parts of Periploca sepium Bunge.
Methods: HPLC were carried out on ODS column, acetonitril: water (27: 73) as mobile phase, detection wavelength at 220nm.
Results: The content of periplocin in root bark, stem bark, xylem of root, xylem of stem are 1.03%, 0.65%, 0.26%, 0.39% respectively. No periplocin was detected in leaves and fruit.
Conclusion: The plant of Periploca sepium Bunge should be multiply utilized.
