Bio-guided isolation of the cytotoxic corytenchine and isocoreximine from roots of Annona cherimolia

Abstract

The roots of Annona cherimolia have been shown to contain the known tetrahydroprotoberberine alkaloids corytenchine (1) and isocoreximine (2), investigated for their cytotoxic properties.
