Diagnostic imaging in the follow-up of recurrent cervical carcinoma

Rays. 2004 Apr-Jun;29(2):201-8.

Abstract

The follow-up of a patient with recurrent cervical carcinoma treated with intracavitary radiotherapy and brachytherapy is reported. The role of CT and MRI was analyzed. MRI is considered the procedure of choice in follow-up. In the future, total body PET will probably play a major role in the detection of recurrence in patients with cervical cancer.
