Abstract

The aim of the study was to estimate the function of the vestibular peripheral end organ in patients with chronic otitis media. In the group of 60 cases, 31 female, 29 male, in the age from 27 to 49 years, the electronystagmographic and stabilometric analysis of vestibular-oculomotor and vestibular-spinal reflexes was performed. The results showed that inner ear dysfunction was mainly observed in cholesteatoma cases. The otolith apparatus disturbances were not often present in comparison with the lesion of the ampullar receptor.
