Abstract

A basic principle of teaching is that students should be actively involved in the educational process. A learning contract is not a substitute method for learning, but enables a student to have a certain amount of control over objectives, content, methods and evaluation of certain curriculum contents. The learning contract gives the student the opportunity to take responsibility for own learning and places the student in an active role with regard to learning.
