The cost of living, labor market opportunities, and the migration decision: a case of misspecification? A comment

Ann Reg Sci. 1981 Nov;15(3):73-9. doi: 10.1007/BF01286333.

Abstract

PIP: The author comments on an article by Renas and Kumar in which they argue that including money income variables in a regression used to explain migration behavior represents a misspecification when separate cost of living variables are not included as well. A reply by Renas and Kumar in which they present additional evidence based on U.S. data is also included.
