Abstract

PIP: Recent changes in the structure of employment opportunities by industry in the Republic of Korea are considered, with a focus on the role of internal migration in the distribution of human resources. Migration is shown to be a significant factor in labor supply, responding particularly to wage rate changes. The authors conclude that over time, migration has operated less efficiently in human resource allocation. (SUMMARY IN ENG)
