Managing clinical data in an electronic environment

Abstract

Clinical data has moved to the forefront as a valuable resource to enhance patient care and measure organizational performance. These data, most of which is now captured electronically, must be assessed for value and appropriateness. This article examines a data quality management model and its use in the initiation of computerized patient record (CPR) projects.
